Thanks Ugu for restoring water supply to Southbroom
The recent improvement in communication between Ugu and residents has been acknowledged.

On behalf of many residents of Southbroom, I would like to formally acknowledge and thank the Ugu District Municipality for the recent restoration of water supply to our area following a prolonged and difficult period without consistent access to water.
In particular, I wish to extend sincere appreciation to Dr Thuli Mwelase, Xolisani Zuma, and the technical teams working on the ground. Your engagement, responsiveness, and the visible presence of teams during a highly challenging time did not go unnoticed. The efforts made under difficult operational and infrastructure constraints are recognised and appreciated by the community.
We would also like to acknowledge the recent improvement in communication between Ugu and residents. Clearer updates and more direct engagement have been a positive development and have assisted the community in better understanding the complexities involved in restoring and stabilising water supply.
The water disruption placed significant strain on households, especially vulnerable residents, and we trust that the experiences of this period will contribute to strengthened systems, proactive maintenance, and improved contingency planning going forward.
As a community, we remain committed to constructive engagement and cooperation with Ugu and other stakeholders to support the long-term stability and resilience of water supply to Southbroom.
Thank you to you and your team for the work undertaken to restore this essential service.
