Sportweni leads way in youth sport development on South Coast
Th long-standing academy continues to uplift local schools and boost tourism.
Sportweni Academy continues to make an outstanding impact on youth sport development while playing a vital role in supporting the local economy on the South Coast.
For more than 50 years, Sportweni Academy, run by Rudi and Ilse Steyn, has successfully hosted school sports tours during the March/April holidays, as well as June/July, September and December, welcoming more than 2 000 learners from all over the country.
Rudi, who is a former Proteas cricket player, brings valuable experience and credibility to the academy’s sporting programmes.
The academy not only brings players and coaches to the region, but also hundreds of parents and supporters, significantly contributing to tourism and supporting local businesses.

What truly sets Sportweni Academy apart is its commitment to the local community.
Local schools are invited to participate free of charge, creating valuable opportunities for learners who would otherwise not have access to this level of sport.
Through professional coaching and high-quality competition, local players are able to grow their skills, build confidence and compete against teams from across the country.
Sportweni Academy offers rugby, hockey, netball, soccer, cricket and golf, combining structured coaching clinics with competitive matches to develop well-rounded players.
