A call has been made to Scottburgh residents to become more active by joining as community patrollers.

The Scottburgh Neighbourhood Association and Patrollers (SNAP) team has indicated that crime is increasing in Scottburgh.

SNAP requests concerned locals to spare one to two hours a week to become a patroller (by vehicle or on foot), as a patroller’s presence helps deter crime and ultimately makes the community safer.

Patrollers will work together with the SNAP team and local police. Patrollers should not confront suspects, but observe and report, acting as the eyes and ears for law enforcement.

The organisation welcomes donations.
