Women’s health takes centre stage at high tea in Umtentweni

The event featured informative and engaging discussions led by an all-women panel of medical specialists.

Hibiscus Hospital Port Shepstone in partnership with Dr Charlene Maistry, hosted a successful Women’s Health Awareness High Tea attended by 100 women from the community at Zizi’s Restaurant in Umtentweni on May 9.

The event featured informative and engaging discussions led by an all-women panel of medical specialists, including Dr Charlene Maistry – obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Avani Singh – physician, Dr Bhavna Singh – dermatologist, Dr Qhamisa Mbalo and Dr Nontokozo Gina, both oncologists, and dietitian Natalie Quinn.

Guests enjoyed valuable conversations focused on women’s health and wellness in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The beautiful weather added to the success of the day, complementing an elegant high tea spread featuring a selection of savoury and sweet treats.

Senior reporter Sugan Naidoo is a true son of the South Coast soil. He was to the newspaper industry born, his late father working at the South Coast Herald back in the days when black and white photographs were still being used. Sugan has been with Caxton for close to three decades, having started as a weekend photographer, straight out of school.
