The Suidkus Smulfees kicks off a celebration of food, fun, entertainment and shopping bargains at Hoërskool Suid-Natal on July 31 (from 15:00 to 18:00) and August 1 (from 08:00 to 14:00).
The annual fête of the NG Gemeente Port Shepstone has over the years become one of the highlights on the South Coast social calendar.
Popular food and snack items such as pancake, braaivleis, offal, cake, and dessert are part of the mouthwatering gastronomic offering.
The Smulfees is also any bargain hunter’s dream – fashionable clothes and a wide variety of second-hand items such as books, art works and household items are up for grabs at prices that leave shoppers speechless.
The festive atmosphere is enhanced not only by the appetising smell of braaivleis and pancakes and the happy laughter of children but also by the sweet sound of music by, among others, a Scottish bagpipe band.
A full programme of children’s entertainment brings happy smiles to the faces of younger guests.
The NG Gemeente Port Shepstone has been part of the local community for more than a hundred years and uses the Suidkus Smulfees as an important platform to reach out to the broader Port Shepstone community.
