Mr South Africa 2026 Top 16 finalist, Darion Langenhoven (34) from Margate, has built platforms to create opportunities for people, particularly the youth, while challenging the perception that one’s circumstances should not determine one’s future.

Langenhoven’s journey is set to intersect with an unprecedented weekend of youth development, leadership, fashion, entertainment, and national recognition when the Mr South Africa 2026 Top 16 finalists, alongside reigning Mr South Africa 2025 JP Geldenhuys, visit the South Coast.

The event takes place at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort, with the I AM MAN Student of Excellence Award on November 6 and The Royal Experience, the third annual Royal Gentlemen’s Event, on November 7.

For Langenhoven, the founder and CEO of NovaSky Productions and I AM MAN, the significance goes far beyond hosting events; it represents his journey long before he stepped onto the Mr South Africa stage.

“Through I AM MAN, I have developed initiatives to encourage young people to recognise their potential and understand that their present circumstances do not have to define their future. One such initiative is the Student of Excellence Award, which began in 2024, a platform where academic achievement, personal development and opportunity can intersect.”

The event will see 10 local schools selected, with each school identifying two of its top achievers, a boy and a girl, selected by their respective principals to receive the ‘I AM MAN’ Student of Excellence Award.

But the recognition does not end with a certificate. The students will compete throughout the year, with a year-end prize awaiting the eventual standout achiever.

Langehoven looks forward to the Mr South Africa competition later this year.
