Hlanganani applauds first aiders

Exams are almost over and parents and thanked for supporting learners during this time.

Hlanganani held a short assembly last Friday where certificates of competence in first aid were given to five teachers, Claudia Mqadi, Moline Makhombe, Nosipho Ntobela, Wonderboy Luthuli and Sibusiso Mbili and two learners, Ayabonga Mncwabe and Mpilwenhle Dlamini. A hamper of goodies was won by Obuhle Mthembu.

The school feels blessed to have Jané Heydricks giving her time to the Grade 2 learners with a reading programme. Last week she gave learners in this programme certificates to end off the year. Learners have improved their reading skills through the programme.

Grade 6 learners were selected as monitors. They will shadow the prefects of 2023 to give them a taste of what they will encounter before they are appointed as prefects for 2024.

Learners who were part of the art competition (from left) Lwazi Nyawose, Zamokuhle Gcaba, Melokuhle Shangase and Lwandle Nyawose.

On the last day of Term 3, a Heritage Day art competition took place from Grade 4 -7. Congratulations to the artists who designed their Heritage Day cap. They are Lwazi Nyawose (Grade 7), Zamokuhle Ngcaba (Grade 6), Melokuhle Shangase (Grade 5) and Lwandle Nyawose (Grade 4).

The school is proud of Thandolwethu Thole, a Grade 7 learner, who has reached out to the school to collect non-perishable food for the homeless. Thanks to those learners who have brought food for this worthy cause.

Exams are almost finished and the school thanks the parents for supporting and encouraging their child during this stressful time.
