PS Secondary rewards top achievers

The coveted Dux Award winner, Zahra Moosa bagged eight subject distinctions, eight subject awards, 14 trophies, and 15 certificates.

Port Shepstone Secondary announced the worthy recipient of the prestigious Dux award at its annual awards day on Tuesday last week.

The coveted Dux Award winner, Zahra Moosa bagged eight subject distinctions, eight subject awards, 14 trophies, 15 certificates and achieved an aggregate of 91,34. Zahra’s distinguished academic record has reflected the education philosophy and principles the school expects. She exemplifies a model student and deserved the commendation.

Other top achievers and close contenders in Grade 12 who boasted academic excellence were Kryolan Nair and Mutsa Shanice Mahlanza.

Kryolan was the Dux Approxime’ winner with a 84.97 percent aggregate while Mutsa was placed third with a 84.09 percent aggregate.

Shining stars in other grades who were placed first in their respective grades were: Grade 11 – Jaiden Govender (seven subject distinctions); Grade 10 – Ethan Neil Naicker (seven subject distinctions); Grade 9 – Scylla Pillay (nine subject distinctions) and Grade 8 – Sonali Samdhan (nine subject distinctions).

The principal, staff and school governing body extend sincere congratulations to all awardees and firmly believe they will continue to strive to be destination bound.
