UCA athletes excel at nationals

There were outstanding performances by UCA’s athletes.

Umdoni Christian Academy (UCA) is thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of its athletes at the SACCSA Nationals.

Competing against top athletes from across the country, UCA students demonstrated their talent and determination, earning multiple podium finishes and making the school proud.

It was an exciting day overall.

The results for the local learners are as follows:

* Boys U14 javelin: Bayanda Mkhize (third place) – 35.29m

* Boys U10 high jump: Blake Killoran (second place)

* Boys U9 turbo javelin: Mthwazi Sithole (second place) – 20.44m

* Girls U8 turbo javelin: Tatum Cox (second place) – 10.85m

* Girls U9 80m sprint: Jo-Anna Pratt (third place) – 13.07s

* Girls U9 turbo javelin: Jo-Anna Pratt (third place) – 16.79m

* Girls U10 shot put: Grace Pratt (second place) – 6.88m

* Girls U12 high jump: Langelihle Miya and Olivia Cox (both second place) – 1.30m

* Boys U17 high jump: Thando Zwane (third place) – 1.65m

* Boys U13 high jump: Reece Ruiter (third place) – 1.50m

* Girls U12 javelin: Olivia Cox (third place) – 24.41m

* Girls U7 cricket ball throw: Thando Kunene (first place) – 16.17m

* Girls and Boys U9 4x80m shuttle relay: First place for Relay Team B (KZN) – 0:51.71 (Jo-Anna Pratt as part of the team).

The outstanding performances by UCA’s athletes highlight the school’s commitment to nurturing both academic and athletic excellence, ensuring a well-rounded education for all students.
