Sports achievers flourish at Izotsha
Last Saturday, the hockey, netball and rugby teams participated in a winter sports day as well.
Izotsha Primary has re-settled into the term with a focus on academics as well as sports.
Intermediate and senior phase sport was played against Creston College. The U11 rugby team drew 5-5. Congratulations to Zimi Tuntulwana who scored a try.
The U13A rugby team displayed good defence. The final score was Creston 10 and Izotsha 7. Eli Langton scored the try and Jacob Steynberg scored the conversion.
The U13A hockey girls displayed good team work. The U13A team won 2-0 and the U13 B team won 4-2.
A number of hockey children attended the KZN hockey trials.
The hockey, netball and rugby teams participated in a winter sports day at Creston College last Saturday. The day was a great success, much fun was had by all.
Emma Rowbotham and Angus Bunge participated in the provincial cross-country mountain biking event at Cascades MTB Park in Pietermaritzburg last Sunday.
Emma placed fourth overall.
Angus raced in the nipper category for boys aged 8 -11. He came first in the U8 race and seventh overall.
Olivia Browne and Naledi Gumedi were the only two girl representatives from the Ugu U13 district hockey team who made it through to the second round of the KZN hockey trials.
