Netherlands tour for Creston College hockey players
This opportunity allows players to train with top-level coaches and compete against leading Dutch hockey clubs.
Creston College’s Zaiah Dennis, Awonke Kubheka, Gabriella Mendes Da Silva and Megan Pretorius were selected for the prestigious Into Africa Sports Invitational Hockey Tour to the Netherlands.
This international opportunity allows players to train with top-level coaches and compete against leading Dutch hockey clubs, while also experiencing global hockey culture.

Stryda Perry was recognised as umpire of the day, a wonderful achievement. A special thank you to coach Hannah David for her dedication, guidance and continued support of the team.
The high school girls participated in the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Hockey Tournament, a well-established and highly competitive tournament in the school sports calendar.
The Southern KZN region was hosted by Kokstad College this year.

At the end of Term 1, the Creston/Izotsha combined U13 rugby team, known as the Griffins, competed at the prestigious Glenwood Rugby Festival. Selection for the team followed a series of rigorous trials and training sessions, making participation a notable achievement for all involved. The festival provided Creston players with a valuable opportunity to showcase their abilities beyond their immediate school and local environment.
Among the standout performers was Johar Lutchman (Grade 7), whose exceptional skill and commitment earned him selection to an Invitational Team. This honour will see him travel to Italy in December to compete internationally. Johar’s fearless, determined playing style and unwavering dedication has set him apart.
This remarkable accomplishment is a source of pride for both his family and Creston College. Johar’s success reflects his hard work and passion for rugby, and he is undoubtedly a young player to watch in the years ahead.
