Vettel is lone star in Texas

The F1 season is just about done and dusted for the year.

SEBASTIAN Vettel proved unbeateable, yet again, in Austin, Texas and heads to Brazil ready to try for nine wins on the trot.

Except for a brief period when he went in for his only pit stop to change for hard tyres, he led the race all the way.

This time however, Lotus kept up the pressure via Romain Grosjean, who finished just over six seconds behind Vettel.

Mark Webber fought back after a poor start on the dirty side of the track to finish third.

Lewis Hamilton drove a good race and held off a determined attack from Fernando Alonso, pulling clear at the end for his fourth position.

Nico Hulkenberg gave us another good drive into sixth position behind Alonso in fifth.

Alonso preserved his tyres and made a big effort towards the end. Sergio Perez drove well for seventh spot and Valtteri Bottas was good all weekend in his recently upgraded Williams.

He had renewed confidence in the knowledge that he has been chosen to partner Felipe Massa next year. His eighth position was well earned and he beat off Nico Rosberg into ninth in the process.

Jenson Button also had to work hard for the 10th spot, just in the points.

Heikki Kovalainen, who has temporarily taken Kimi Raikkonen’s position at Lotus, dropped down to 14th position at the end of the race after being eighth on the grid, a little disappointing after a good showing in practice.

News on Raikkonen is that he is recovering from a successful back operation.

The final race takes place this weekend at Sao Paulo, Brazil. Qualifying is this Saturday, November 23rd at 6pm and the race the following day at the same time.
