Restaurant of the Week: Always worth the drive

Banana Café is unlike almost any other dining spot.

LOCATED in Mac Banana in Munster,  Banana Café boasts sweeping views within a farm stall near bursting with wonderful preserves, biscuits, honey, sweets and other treats. There are also plenty of fun activities available for the family.

Banana Café is unlike any other dining spot. Its wine list is extensive and you will be spoilt for choice the minute you open the menu. Mac Banana offers a very large selection of good quality but affordable wine, from sparkling and white to semi-sweet and dry red. The café has a wonderful selection of original cocktails with the most curious names, like Vernon’s Wrath and Magic Moments, enough to tempt you to try one.

Regulars will be pleased to know that the weekly breakfast buffet is now on offer daily, in season. The amazing buffet, which costs R60 per person, will be served from 8am to 11am. There is also a selection of breakfasts on the á la carte menu.

The café is of course famous for its large pancakes, filled with a sweet or savoury filling of your choice. There are also toasted treats and decadent desserts on offer.

Something worth trying is the upmarket Toni Glass iced and herbal teas and the refreshing Slo Jos. Don’t forget to ask about the specials!
