In response to ‘perplexed reader’

Did ‘Perplexed Reader’ use a nom de plume lack the courage to reveal his or her identity?

DEAR Editor,-

Why would such an enthusiastic corruption-buster like ‘Perplexed Reader’ (SC Herald, December 6) lack the courage to reveal his/her identity? His zeal to name Cllr Peter Naudé is matched only by the hypocrisy of his nom de plume.

Corruption? The numerous members of the ruling classes that we’re forced to hear about ad nauseam, going about perfecting the art of corruption, is where ‘Mr Perplexed’ should better concentrate his pious indignation. The Peter Naudé that I have known for almost 30 years has enough integrity in his little finger to get the public protector’s proposed ‘Ethics School for Cabinet Ministers’ off to a good start.
