Safety railings need repairs

These railings serve a purpose and failure to replace or repair them could have civil implications.

DEAR Editor,

The safety railings at the top end of Rethman Drive, at the left turn-off into the Old St Faiths road, have been down for several months and I don’t know who is responsible for the maintenance of this section of the road leading to the main toll road.

There is always the possibility that one falls into a rut and accepts this as being the ‘normal’ state of affairs, but before I reach this stage, I wish to make an appeal through the South Coast Herald to the authorities (whoever they may be), to repair this section of the road, bearing in mind that the holidays are upon us.

In the final analysis, safety railings, as in this case, serve a purpose. Failing to replace them could have civil implications and this job could be done in the course of one day.
