DEAR Editor,-
I would like to make a bold statement: Where is the Hibiscus Coast Municipality and why do they have no concern for their territory?
This comes after recently having to replace an already brand new tyre on my car due to potholes. It doesn’t matter where you go in the town of Margate and surrounds, the roads are full of potholes which are getting harder to avoid.
I’m sure many people on the South Coast will agree that the state of the roads is shocking and worse is that nothing has been done about it. I have lived in Margate for five months now and have noticed only one or two being fixed.
The total cost of damages since moving to Margate is R2 100, and for what? Because municipalities don’t seem to have pride any more. That is my opinion. My recommendation is that the municipality starts taking these comments seriously because with an increase in tourism to the beautiful South Coast, the last thing we want is for people to leave with a bad taste.
At the same time, I would also like to thank the Herald for the platform they provide for people to be heard. It is good to have an informative newspaper.
