We seldom take notice of people who work tirelessly in our communities, ensuring that our way of life is improved and protected.
These are the people who don’t draw motivation from sod turning events, media opportunities or remuneration. Its just in their nature to help others. They have an intrinsic zest for life and are perturbed when others are distressed.
I have had the pleasure of working with such an individual during community projects. He had an infectious positive aura and his mere demeanour inspired others.
Sadly we all have to come to terms with the indiscriminate way in which the Almighty calls his beloved souls.
Rest in peace, Thys Taljaard.
