DEAR Editor,-
The end of the year offers some unique opportunities to enjoy life. Some get time off from work and bonuses while others get either time off or a bonus. There is normally great weather and opportunities to travel or stay local to enjoy time with family and friends. Shops stay open till late and there are various promotions and programmes to tempt us.
Despite this opportunity to just enjoy life, it can become an opportunity that frustrates and destroys lives. Some will exhaust additional resources like time and money unwisely and face sadness and debt in 2015. Others will use their resources to overindulge in pleasures, to the extent that they not only rapidly deplete their resources, but also suffer loss of life, limb and integrity.
The fact is we only have one life on earth. It is irreplaceable, precious and awesome, and if lived well, has the potential to infuse joy, peace, health, happiness for one and all. I pray that we all choose life and enjoy it to its fullest, while steering clear of things that are destructive to life.
After all, we secure all our material assets through security, insurance and maintenance provision, yet life is our biggest and most irreplaceable asset and no value is placed on that. You only get to live life once.
