I live in Ramsgate south and load-shedding was not scheduled for December 7, as per the Eskom website that states the network was on level 2, therefore no load-shedding for this area.
However, the power went off at 10am, so I called Eskom. I was informed that no load-shedding should be experienced in my area, but then she changed her mind and said yes, from 12 to 2.30pm. When I asked her why mine went off at 10am, she proceeded to tell me that ‘they sometimes do that’!
Well, I would like to comment that Eskom is a dysfunctional company, run by a dysfunctional management team. Please try and sort it out – it does not take rocket science. Stop providing free electricity just because the government says so and learn to manage your budget and operation.
