DEAR Editor,-
Whilst the public is very aware that due to the taxi saga over the last week, the Margate SAPS had a lot of commitments and responsibilities, this is no excuse for rudeness, a climate of indifference and total incapacity or understanding on how to carry out various functions.
Many law abiding people who try to drag our country/province/municipality out of the internationally recognised gutter, are thwarted by indifference, laziness and total lack of mental capacity when reporting reckless driving cases or accidents involving pedestrians and motor vehicles.
If ANC members are the complainants, it is obvious to the general public that the SAPS, in their eagerness to protect their employment, pensions and unfit and unhealthy lifestyles, fall over each other and bungle their way, impeding proper assessments, to try and obtain recognition by the ruling political party.
Incidences where a SAPS captain did not have the ability or know-how to write down a statement that was dictated to him, and a further incident where a high ranking officer plus two members (who obviously ranked lower), were unable to find the necessary ‘paper’, which I thought it should be a ‘form’, to open a docket, is beyond belief.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to the members of SAPS who honestly attend work, realise their responsibilities to the public and really work hard because many of their colleagues lack the necessary mental capacity.
Catch a wake-up the rest of you, your days are numbered! This country is bordering on a vicious backlash from the citizens who pay their various taxes and uphold the law and who have become tired of your stupidity and lack of interest.
IAN S KALIL
Margate
