‘Library staff are a shining example’

I wish all public servants can behave like these two members of the Margate Library staff.

DEAR Editor,-

I’ve been a regular at the Margate Library for five years now and the change is amazing!

Since last year there have been a lot of changes, inside and out, starting with the signage. The beautiful, bright interior signage now makes it easy to look for a book in the shelves. Most old books have been removed and replaced with new ones.

Every month the information display is updated and the exterior signage is great, making it easy to locate the library. Staff members are always good to visitors, so when I saw new staff members, I was afraid because sometimes change is good, sometimes it’s not.

But I think whoever appointed the new librarian was brilliant. She has very good people skills and is so down-to-earth that I did not know she was in charge until I was told.

These days it’s rare to find a pretty a young woman who treats people with respect like she does and the way she communicates with her staff is really amazing. I wish all public servants can behave like these members of the Margate Library staff.

I really enjoy visiting Margate library. It has become my ‘second home’.
