DEAR Editor,-
At about 11.55pm on the night of April 10, we were awoken by music coming from vehicles parked in front of the recently opened illegal shebeen called ‘The Downtown Tavern’.
We contacted the control room at the police station and reported this to the constable on duty. Within minutes, two police vans arrived and cleared the parking area!
Such response we have not had in the past year and we can only credit AfriForum for coming on board to assist with our problem.
The community still insists that this illegal shebeen be closed down as soon as possible.
