DEAR Editor,-
In response to Rev Mike Effanga’s report, he and 50 other religious leaders were disregarded by ‘Pastor 1’ (Herald, April 3, 2015) stating that he is a pastor and spiritual leader, claiming that the he has searched and studied the ‘scripture’ for years and could not find one single verse that says that social nudity is morally wrong, or offensive to God!
Sir, you totally astound me! We definitely don’t share the same ‘scripture’. You challenged any person to prove you wrong, so please read the following: 1 When God drove mankind from the Garden of Eden, they were naked, bar fig leaves. God himself made coats of skin and clothed them (Gen 3:21) – if their nudity didn’t concern God, why would he cover them? 2 When instructions were given for an altar to be built, there had to be no stairs lest anybody should look up and discover the nakedness of the person bringing the offering (Deut 20:26); 3 Clothe the naked (Isaiah 58:7); 4 Naked prisoners were clothed (2 Chron 28:15); 5 Public ‘nudeness’ is a curse. (Deut 28:15); 6 No strong drink to be given a person to observe their shame (Hab 2:15); 7 God himself wears a garment (Dan 7:9); 8 Angels wear clothes (Mark 16:5); and, 9 Saints wear robes (Rev 7:9).
All the above texts above come from my Bible, sir, and are not assumptions or personal interpretations, but true, irrevocable facts! It never was or is God’s intention or will that mankind should run around naked on this planet. How disgraceful it is for moral values to be shamelessly discarded for financial gain.
I strongly advise you, sir, to sincerely pray to God (as you claim to be Christian) and ask for spiritual revelation and discernment, for your views are clearly not in line with God’s Word.
