DEAR Editor,-
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Roxanne and Diane Frey for their incredible assistance when a 78-year-old woman, house-sitting on an adjacent farm, was taken desperately ill. I was unable to negotiate the horrendous ‘track’ in my car to reach her.
Roxanne, in her vehicle, transported my passenger over the river to the house and immediately informed me via cellphone that the woman was in imminent danger of a stroke. I requested her to bring the woman back to the office and I would take over from there.
Under no circumstances, she replied. She and her mom, Diane, would transport the woman to their private doctor at their own expense! Good Samaritans does not even come close to describing these two incredible women for their time, effort and expense in assisting a complete stranger, even arranging for a replacement house-sitter to take over.
Unfortunately I did not get the name of the elderly neighbour, however she is now in a safe place, awaiting collection by her family. May God bless your richly, Diane and Roxanne, for your selfless intervention.
