The South African Post Office has a much bigger problem to deal with than a local shortage of postal stamps – it’s lack of delivery of items already stamped and dropped into local post boxes!
I posted two airmail letters to Australia well over a month ago, and neither has arrived yet. I haven’t heard of any airplanes going missing over the Indian or Pacific Oceans recently, so the problem is obviously within the local postal system.
