‘Request for recycling bins is ignored’

I have decided that the whole exercise is a total waste of time and am now prepared to abandon the project.

DEAR Editor,-

I have been struggling for more than two months to get the environmental manager of Hibiscus Community Services to install recycling bins at Anerley Place, to no avail. It is difficult to make contact with the gentleman concerned because he does not respond to telephone messages or emails.

I was assured that the bins would be installed immediately and emptied within 24 hours of being reported full, but after reading all the complaints about overflowing recycling bins, I have decided that the whole exercise is a total waste of time and am now prepared to abandon the project. What a pity, because we generate a large amount of waste material at our complex of 53 units.

DISAPPOINTED ENVIRONMENTALIST
