OPINION: ‘Val’s smiling face will be sorely missed’

There are many lovely stories about Val which will be told and retold in the near future.

DEAR Editor,-

We would like to extend our condolences to all South Coast Herald colleagues of Umtentweni scribe Val Gibbons, as well as to everyone else who knew her.

Val was a lovely woman, full of fun and mischief, even on a bad day. We will miss her smiling face at The Collectibles’ monthly luncheons. We will miss her phone calls, her wonderful stories of days gone by and her sage advice like the best way to eat hot cross buns is to add extra spice, sugar and butter and heat them up in the oven.

There are many lovely stories about Val which will be told and retold in the near future.
