DEAR Editor,-
After writing emails to the mayor and HCM last wek, to date I have not had a squeak or a whimper from them. Is this a sign of disregard or just sheer panic?
As predicted, the water situation hit the Gauteng headlines (article appeared in The Star on November 10) and, no doubt, the most valuable financial resources are now seriously considering seeking to spend their festive season holiday elsewhere.
There has been absolutely no damage control by either HCM or Ugu … just a wringing of hands. Be alerted that they probably have no more than 14 days to give their ‘market’ some reassurance that they will be coddled and looked after if they choose to holiday on the Hibiscus Coast. With marketing you only get one shot at recovery.
I sincerely hope that they will react and do things right. The Hibiscus Coast cannot afford a festive season financial disaster.
