DEAR Editor,-
We wish to thank municipal workers and unnamed community members from Athlone Drive for the assistance in saving five kittens. Recently community members found five three-week old abandoned kittens in a storm water drain in Athlone Drive. A call for assistance was made to HCM, who immediately dispatched a team of very dedicated, compassionate professional protection service officers including team leader Beyers le Roux and firefighter Niven Naidoo. Unfortunately we did not get the names of the other two members, but suffice to say, this team of officers left no stone unturned to save the kittens. They worked tirelessly and even arranged a safe home for them with one of their colleagues at HCM!
It is nice to know that compassionate and dedicated people within our community service providers still exist in this day and age – officers who will go to such great lengths to save little creatures who don’t stand a fighting chance of survival in this cruel world. The community sincerely thanks these officers for their assistance and efforts during the rescue operation.
