OPINION: ‘Cake quality will be improved’

The Christmas cakes are professionally baked, using a special recipe which is owned by the Lions Clubs of SA.

DEAR Editor,- For several decades, Lions Clubs around the country have sold Christmas cakes as a means of raising funds for charitable causes.

These delicious cakes are professionally baked using a special recipe, which is owned by the Lions Clubs of South Africa.

Owing to various factors, which included higher than usual temperatures, a very small percentage of the cakes sold during the 2015 Christmas cake drive were not up to standard and for this we would like to apologise.

Plans are already in place to meet with the baker and to ensure improved quality in the future.

The Lions Clubs of Scottburgh, Hibberdene, Port Shepstone, Shelly Beach and Ramsgate would like to use this opportunity to thank all our loyal supporters who, over the years, have helped us to raise much-needed funding for the needy. DENIS MEYER Port Shepstone Lions
