DEAR Editor,-
I am extremely disgusted with the attitudes of officials at the voting registration station at PS Secondary last weekend. My husband and I are not first-time voters but, due to a previous error, we were treated badly. My daughter had to register for the first time, so while I was correcting the error for my husband and I, my husband assisted our daughter with completing her form.
The official very rudely said: “Let her fill in the form by herself.” When my husband said he was just helping her through it because it was her first time, she retorted: “Then why did you send her to school?”
If officials would assist first-time voters, then parents would not have to. The official’s attitude was not called for.
