DEAR Editor,-
On the night of October 30, I was rushed to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital with an extremely serious respiratory condition.
The situation called for immediate attention and action to avert a possible fatality.
From the moment of my arrival, this facility proved themselves worthy of being called a hospital in everything done to accommodate me as a patient, and done promptly and efficiently.
My focus and main reason for this letter is to extend my personal gratitude to each and every individual at Ward A, where I was for six days.
It would be unfair to single out anyone because this team operated as a unit in a class of their own.
All facets of what I will term medical care and human consideration was diligently attended to constantly.
The interaction between staff and patients was professional, considerate, sympathetic and with a sense of calm, even under difficult circumstances.
No request or task was too much of an effort for the men and women of this unit.
The hospital can be proud of this team.
As a pensioner without medical aid, I conclude that if standards of Ward A can be the norm, medical treatment will have a different face.
Well done and thank you.
