OPINION: ‘Is this a new law for taxis?’

How can passengers feel safe driving in a vehicle that doesn’t get inspected by the driver?

DEAR Editor,-

A  taxi with no number plates recently drove in front of us from Shelly Beach to Port Shepstone.

Even traffic police don’t take note, so I was just wondering if this is now a new law for taxis?

If it is not a new law, then it is proof that the driver doesn’t even do any checks or inspections on his vehicle.

How can passengers feel safe driving in a vehicle that doesn’t get inspected by the driver?

Just wondering.
