DEAR Editor:
What a nightmare it has been this past weekend. Park Rynie residents have had no electricity the entire weekend and it has caused nothing but headaches.
I’ve had to throw out over four bags full of frozen food – well they’re now thawed out, because my freezer defrosted.

Besides the amount of food I had to throw out, we’ve been dealing with such high temperatures along the South Coast and so much humidity that it becomes unbearable to sit in your house without a fan or air-conditioner.
And it’s pretty useless going outside because there’s hardly any wind.
Besides the power outages and load-shedding, there have been a number of water shortages throughout the area as well. Almost everything that we need for basic living is being taken away from us.
When will it end? Why do we have to work so hard and pay for something that we’re being deprived of?
It just doesn’t make sense and is not fair at all. It makes you wonder what all of our money is spent on.
And even when these outages or water shortages do happen, most of the time we aren’t informed of the reasons behind it.
I know that complaining gets you nowhere, but it’s nice to sometimes put your feelings on paper…
Here’s hoping and praying that a change is brought about in South Africa very soon.
