Shelagh and Gaven Hardouin have shared some wonderful news.
Son, Ryan and girlfriend Miki Iwata announced their engagement this week.
Miki, originally from Japan, is the daughter of Yas Iwata of Japan and Gail Iwata from South Africa.
As if that wasn’t enough of a celebration, Shelagh and Gaven’s daughter Lauren and boyfriend Chad Fisher also announced their engagement.
Chad is the son of Keith and Lynn Fisher, both from South Africa.
So much romance in the month of December 2020.

I know that the community will join me in sending heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Nick Cilliers who died on Friday, December 18.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend and amazing dog whisperer, Nic Cilliers.
Nick went out with me for years in the mornings to feed the dogs and cats. He was the most gentle man and the dogs thrived on his gentle touch.
There was not a dog that he did not kiss and even when he was bitten on the lip by a rabid dog, he did not stop kissing and hugging these neglected and often abused animals.
He fought for them when needed and often placed himself between the dog and an abusive owner. The township people knew this man that loved their dogs and many will be shocked at his death.
Nick rescued quite a few dogs that ended up staying with him and Beryl. Their home was always open for a lost soul.
My heart breaks at this loss of a wonderful friend.
A man who shared my passion for animals and gave up so much of his time to help.
Walk tall my friend towards the rainbow bridge where many of your 4 Paws friends are waiting to take you across. You have earned your wings.
Till we meet again. I will miss you.
If nothing else, this year has taught each and every one of us the art of flexibility.
The name of the game is change; whatever was planned can and will be altered, or dumped completely!
So for Christmas this year, I wish the readers peace, health, wealth and happiness.
It is certainly going to be a different scenario to any that we have experienced previously. Change is inevitable; misery is optional.
