OPINION: Festive coastal welcome to holidaymakers

Hopefully it will be as good a season as possible for locals and visitors alike.

As summer is well upon us and the festive cheer infectious as ever, we would like to welcome all our late coming holidaymakers.

With a large portion having arrived last week, and welcomed by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality speaker Zodwa Mzindle at the Hibberdene off ramp, we South Coasters understand that more will trickle down over the course of this week with Christmas last Saturday (25th).

The true beauty about the South African Christmas lies in our lovely sunshine and beautiful weather.

Although different from the classic western style ‘Jack Frost’ Christmas, instead of snow angels or snowmen, tourists should feel free to head down to the beach to see some amazing sand ‘sculptures’ made by the local beach artists.

There is nothing like a coastal Christmas I tell you. However, always be safe, be alert and avoid overly crowded areas, more specifically for health reasons above all else.

Most importantly, look out for the potholes.
