OPINION: ‘Relief funds – who will guard the guards?’

It is due to the past corruption and theft of monies linked to the funds designated to be used in fighting the Covid pandemic.

DEAR Editor;

I hear this morning (Tuesday, April 19), that an oversight committee is being established, to monitor the distribution of the funds that have been earmarked for disaster relief in KZN.

It is due to the past corruption and theft of monies linked to the funds designated to be used in fighting the Covid pandemic.

Dear fellow South Africans, how embarrassing to have to appoint some of your own people, to monitor some of your own people, so that some of your own people get the benefit of the help.

My question is ‘who will guard the guards?’
