Top Miss SA spot for South Coaster

The former Sheppie High pupil and Miss SA hopeful describes herself as a Jill of all trades.

Representing the South Coast, Sibusisiwe Zwane, of Shelly Beach has made it to the Top 30 of Miss South Africa.
The 20-year-old final-year architecture student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal is one of 30 contestants who was shortlisted to be Ndavi Nokeri’s successor.

The former Sheppie High pupil describes herself as a Jill of all trades.
While Zwane is a Miss SA titleholder hopeful, she said she would love to one day start her own architecture firm and construction company that will work with the government to create sustainable and economic housing projects that will eradicate homelessness in South Africa.

“South Africa my name is Sibusisiwe Zwane, your Miss SA top 30 finalist. How surreal it feels to be able to say this and I’m absolutely humbled by all the love I have received thus far. I promise you I am ready to become the embodiment of duty, championship, empowerment, and beauty. I am here to serve, lead with intent and become a representative for all South Africans, particularly the youth, on which my advocacy is based and that is youth empowerment through growing entrepreneurship and financial literacy among our youth,” she said.

She added: “I am here, stepping into my power and facing my future and I can only hope that you all walk with me through this journey. KZN I’m so proud to be representing you and I promise to represent you with resilience, hard work, and dedication. Ngiyabonga (Thank you).”

In a recent statement, organisers of Miss SA, said the 30 hopefuls are an impressive and diverse group, adding that the list includes BCom, science and psychology graduates, lawyers, teachers, architectural students, a film creative, and a student pilot.

This year’s changes to the rules allow married women and those with children to enter.
Meanwhile, voting lines for the Top 12 contestants closed on Sunday.
