The provincial government said the event is hosted with the aim of improving the health status of public service employees and reducing the risk of health conditions caused by a lack of physical exercise and unhealthy habits such as abuse of alcohol and drugs.

Teams also participated in a volleyball match.

“These conditions include obesity, depression, and cardiovascular diseases. The success of the Work and Play Programme leads to improved service delivery to the public as a healthy body impacts an active mind,” it said.

They also participated in tug-o-war.
