Make a difference by joining ratepayers association

From recycling and conservation, to tackling crime and improving infrastructure, the Uvongo Ratepayers and Residents Association covers it all in their monthly meetings at the vibrant Uvongo Town Hall.

Residents in Uvongo are urged to join the Uvongo Ratepayers and Residents Association (URRA).
The association’s chairperson, Hardus Coetzee said they are tired of feeling like their hard-earned money for rates disappears into thin air, leaving them questioning why multiple committees ask for donations to do what they should be doing in the first place.

“That is why we, the Uvongo Ratepayers Committee are stepping up to make a real change. Now, before you dismiss this as just another committee, let me assure you, we are not here to be heroes or gain any personal advantage. We are regular folks like you, striving to make the most for our families and ensure our beloved town thrives as it should. What sets us apart? We are all about service and accountability. Together, we are taking a stand, demanding that our voices be heard and our concerns addressed. From recycling and conservation to tackling crime and improving infrastructure, we cover it all in our monthly meetings at the vibrant Uvongo Town Hall. But this is not just a closed-door club – it’s an invitation to all residents who share our passion for change,” he said.

Coetzee added that they want residents to be part of the movement that is sweeping through the neighbourhood, gaining momentum with each new member.

“Let us join forces and ensure our collective vision becomes a reality. So, mark your calendars for our upcoming meetings, where we discuss, debate, and strategise on how to bring our concerns to the attention of the accountable authorities. Together, we will tackle those pesky potholes, faulty street lights, untidy verges, and more. With persistence and determination, we’ll see every issue through until it’s resolved. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to make a genuine impact on our community.

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a newcomer to Uvongo, Ward 19, we welcome you with open arms. Hit that subscribe button, and let’s keep the conversation going,” he said.

Coetzee said remember, this is not about any single individual, it is about being proud Uvongo residents and committed citizens.

He said together, they can transform their town into the vibrant, functional, and accountable place they all dream of.
