Seniors spoilt at outreach programme

The day's activities included renowned Durban deejay Nivaadh Singh.

The Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha, in association with ‘For The Love Of Music’, hosted its second annual senior citizens’ outreach programme at the Andhra Sabha Hall, Lion’s Grove last Sunday.

The day’s activities included renowned Durban deejay Nivaadh Singh. Seniors enjoyed great music, dances, games, a hearty lunch and received hampers.

DD Naidoo of the Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha said elders are important pillars in society, and the function gave them a chance to interact with each other and enjoy a joyful afternoon.

”Uplifting our communities with such events that fill the lives of our seniors with positivity and joy is always on top of our agenda,” said Naidoo.

The emcee for the day, Denver Pillay, said that judging by the huge smiles on the faces of the seniors, everyone involved in the initiative can take a bow for spoiling the most important pillars in society, the elderly, who have cared for their younger generation and always upheld community traditions.
