Rugby player Kwanele has high hopes
With the right opportunities and continued dedication, Kwanele has the potential to go far in the game.
Rugby player Kwanele Ntshulane has been selected to play for Southern KZN in the U16 Rhino Week in June.
The tournament will be held at Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng, where the team will play against other provincial and regional teams.
The team comprises players from schools in the Amanzimtoti, Kingsway and Port Shepstone areas and beyond.
What perhaps makes Kwanele’s journey somewhat remarkable is that he attends Marburg Secondary, not traditionally known for producing rugby players.
Kwanele stands at 1m 83cm tall and weighs 88kg. His current position is lock, but he has also played flank and 8th-man.
He honed his skills through the SKZN youth ranks, having been selected for the iQhawe Week U15 KZN team.
His support base believes Kwanele possesses the physical attributes, skill set and determination to thrive in the demanding world of rugby.
His selection for the iQhawe Week team a few years ago is a testament to his early potential, and his drive to progress further bodes well for his future in the sport.
With the right opportunities and continued dedication, Kwanele has the potential to go far in the game.
Players need to raise R6 500 to cover all costs, and he is looking for anyone who may feel led to contribute.
This includes transport, accommodation, food and rugby kits.
