Mayor gives back to people

The mayor of Umuziwabantu, Sboniso Zungu, donated to two projects in Harding last Friday.

At the bus rank, hoists were donated to mechanics to fix vehicles.

Also, a water tank, seeds, and water pipes were handed over to a young farmer, Sboniso Mbutho, who is still in school but grows vegetables in the area.

A house was handed over to Balungile Mbuthuma as her home had been flooded during heavy rains.

Zungu said the municipality is looking into donating to other projects, too.

On the same day, senior citizens were hosted from around Umuziwabantu to help them access social services from various departments such as Social Development and Sassa.

The mayor also celebrated the team that represented the municipality in the Golden Games.

He said that he will continue to support the senior citizens of Umuziwabantu so that they can continue to be healthy.
