Mangquzuka High through to district level

In the opening match, Mangquzuka beat KwaFica 5-0. KwaFica then played Mvuthuluka and lost 5-1.

Mangquzuka High School is through to the next round of the U21 Kay Motsepe Soccer Cup.

They now head to the district champs, which will be played at Jabavu Stadium, Gcilima this Saturday.

A mini-league was held at Vusushaba Sportsfield, Oshabeni last Friday.

It involved three schools, namely Mangquzuka from Oshabeni, Mvuthuluka High from uMzumbe and KwaFica High from uMtwalume.

In the opening match, Mangquzuka beat KwaFica 5-0. KwaFica then played Mvuthuluka and lost 5-1.

It came down to the match between Mvuthuluka and Mangquzuka, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Mangquzuka topped the long by virtue of superior goal difference.

Circuit sports coordinator, Sandile Myende, said the matches were played to decide a winner to represent the circuit at district level.

“These matches are good for the boys and we need more. We need to have more games at school,” he said.
