Prize money up for grabs at thunee contest
The much-anticipated thunee tournament takes place at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort on Saturday, November 23.
Players who sign up for the second thunee tournament of the year at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort on Saturday, November 23, stand a chance to win a share of over R30 000 in cash.
The entry fee is R200 per team. Some 200 thunee gurus and legends are set to take part in the tournament, which attracts players from around the country.
Thunee, a card game, is best for four players in fixed partnerships, sitting across from each other, but it can also be played by two or six (two teams of three players). It is played with 24 cards only. The sixes, referred to as the ‘ball cards’, are used to keep score. The first rule of the game is to always follow suit. If a player does not have that suit, he may play any other card in his deck.
