Correctional services victors of interforces games
Almost all law enforcement agencies were represented.
The Department of Correctional Services men’s rugby team recently won the finals of the tightly contested interforces games at the Helderberg rugby stadium in the Western Cape.
According to Nompilo Moyeni from Kokstad Management Area, the stakes were very high in this tournament.
“We are very proud of our men’s team; they did a sterling job, and they won in the finals, beating SANDF 20-18. The women’s team did not disappoint because we secured second position after we were knocked out by the SANDF by a huge margin. They really gave us a hiding in the finals. Lenelda Abrams and I held the Kokstad Management Area’s flag high. We have learnt a lot from these games, and we are prepared to share the knowledge we acquired with our colleagues back home,” said Moyeni.
Almost all law enforcement agencies were represented: SANDF, Department of Correctional Services, and City of Cape Town Traffic Law Enforcement. Unfortunately, Saps pulled out at the last moment due to circumstances beyond their control.
