Clubs keep tennis tradition alive

Friendly banter was the order of the day, of course.

Tennis players from Southbroom and Uvongo clubs kept a long-standing tradition going with an annual match last Saturday.

This time around, it was played at Southbroom Tennis Club, with the hosts the winners, holding onto the trophy for another year.

It was a fun morning and a spectacle of skill and experience that can only be earned through decades of service to the sport.

Both clubs look forward to continuing this fixture for many more years to come.

Southbroom’s team comprised Rob van der Schyff, Phil Schaffler, Alan Collocott, Rolf Gudegast, Alan Hurlbatt and Bernat Kruger.

Uvongo’s team consisted of Ken Coleman, Jake Jacobs, Norman Davies, Ralph Burls, Nigel Wareing, Duncan Biggar and Augustine Tugli.
