Mother and son injured in R612 crash

Injuries ranged from minor to moderate.

A vehicle rolled multiple times down an embankment while travelling on the R612 between Umzinto and Park Rynie last Thursday.

The driver and her young child were in the vehicle at the time.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded to the scene and found that the mother had sustained moderate injuries and the child minor injuries.

After stabilising the mother, IPSS Medical and EMRS paramedics, alongside Umdoni Fire Department, worked together, safely carrying the woman up the embankment and into a waiting ambulance.

The child was evaluated by paramedics before being handed over into the care of his father.
