Abakithi FC is Inkosi Cup champs
Abakithi's captain, Ntsikelelo Luvolovolo, said it was a sweet victory for them, as they were hungrier than their opponents.
There was much jubilation as Abakithi FC conquered the Inkosi SB Lushaba Sports Tournament in the football section.
They had to fight all the way from the quarter-finals to the finals, where they clashed with Anytime FC, in what was dubbed as the best match of the tournament.
The tournament started on Sunday and ended on Monday last week. The games took place at Vusushaba Sportsfield at Oshabeni location.
As a norm in football, the final is the crowd-puller match, and this was was no different. It was a fiery game, with both sides trying to hit the net as early as possible.
The game ended in a smart draw 1-1 and went straight to penalties, where Abakithi won 6-5, thanks to their goalie Zipho Mthimkhulu who made a million dollar save, to give his team the crown.

In netball, only three teams participated, with Young United taking the crown and walking away with a new kit, trophy, gold medals and cash.
“I thank the organisers for putting together this tournament for us. It encourages us as the youth to unite and focus on sport, and to attend school. Our opponents were strong and played a beautiful game, so we decided to use our speedy wingers,” said Luvolovolo.
Event organiser, Inkosi Sthembiso KaZwengu Lushaba, encouraged both netball and football players to stay away from drugs and put more effort in sport and education.
“It has always been my wish as Inkosi of Oshabeni to organise such a tournament for the youth. My wish is to make it an annual event. And one more thing, stay away from drugs, and focus on sport and education,” said Lushaba.
