New role for seasoned actress

Gamalakhe actress Nozuko Ntshangase was recently announced as one of four thespians who will join Season 34 of Generations: The Legacy on SABC1.

The series, produced by Morula Pictures, welcomed Ntshangase, Tinah Mnumzana, Phillip Tipo Tindisa and Sannah Mchunu, each bringing vibrant characters to the award-winning drama.

Ntshangase will play the role of Vuyelwa Nxumalo.

Speaking on her new role, Ntshangase said she was excited to join the mother of all soapies.

“Breathing life into the character of Vuyelwa is amazing, and I can’t wait for people to witness the magic,” she said.

Ntshangase has previously bagged roles in DiepCity, Isipho, Skeem Saam, Abomama, and The River.

The producer of the show, Mfundi Mvundla, described Vuyelwa as a straight talker who is smart and pushy.

“She attended private school from Grade 1 and has never been without opportunities. She is hard-working and wants those around her to do the same. And, she’s desperate to make it big before 30. She’s empathetic, but tries to fight against it because this is a dog-eat-dog world,” he said.

Mvundla added that Vuyelwa is adorable, and it is easy to mistake her as naïve, until she surprises you.
He also described her character as methodical and not fond of adapting.

“She is a great planner, non-experimental unless pushed. She wants to have an investigative journalistic show on TV, an international platform. MM Media is a step closer, but not a destination,” he said.

Ntshangase will debut on Generations: The Legacy on July 9 on SABC1 at 20:00.
